Dr Alexandra Budjanovcanin
Ali’s role as a Research Associate in the Workforce Programme involves investigating workforce issues as they relate to patient safety and service quality in healthcare. She is involved in a number of projects with this remit. These include evaluating the impact of organisational vision and values on employee attitudes and behaviour and the evaluation of HR policy implementation and practice across Trusts within the NHS as a means of understanding differences in performance and service quality, as well its implications for patient safety.
Ali worked at King’s College London for a number of years prior to joining PSSQ, mostly involved in workforce related research. However, her experience of healthcare extends to her PhD, the setting of which is the pharmacy profession. This investigates the career experiences and working lives of Black, Asian and minority ethnic female pharmacists. Working closely with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, her thesis is concerned with the influence of ethnic cultural factors on work-related decision making and the implications of these for individual well-being, workforce planning and effective healthcare provision.
